Mastering ChatGPT Prompts for Content Creation - Bumper Leads

Coming up with good content is hard work – even for the most experienced copywriters. ChatGPT and AI can help, but it can also be time consuming to find words to instruct it to give you the right content for your brand. But don’t despair! We now have something called ChatGPT prompts! In this post, you will learn how to prompt your AI tool to generate personalized content for your business.

In this episode of Marketing Automation Made Simple, Milena and Jovana from Bumper Leads talk about how businesses can take advantage of AI to save time and money.

We discuss different tools like HubSpot, ActiveCampaign and Notion, and how they now offer AI leveraged content snippets to help create personalized content that won’t make you sound like they were generated by AI.

During our episode, we emphasize the importance of following copywriting frameworks such as the PAS framework we’ve been using in our own business to write newsletters and email content for our clients.

Not everything ChatGPT does, can produce relevant information for your target market.

Sometimes it produces content that sounds like words strung into sentences – pulled from the web without any regard for your specific topic of interest.

Sometimes you need help with a few ideas on how to ask the right questions in order to get the right content for your email campaign or a blog!

There are now jobs being created such as Prompt Engineers and some that require technical skills for custom AI work, and these jobs demand a salary upwards of $300,000!

But you can refer to this episode if you don’t want to hire a Prompt Engineer 🙂 You can tune into the show below:

Basically, in order to get what we want, we need to prompt chatGPT to do in the right way in order to execute on our instruction. Kinda like having a personal assistant.

How to Leverage ChatGPT and AI prompts for Content Creation

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would’ve heard about AI and how it plans to revolutionize the way businesses operate – it is now possible to use AI to increase productivity and efficiency without changing much in your daily routines. Basically, the volume of work you produce will be exponentially different to how you did everything before AI.
I think that is the big promise made by AI.

By leveraging AI, businesses can automate mundane tasks, streamline processes, and improve customer service.

AI can also be used to create more personalized customer experiences, allowing businesses to better understand their customers’ needs and preferences. To get the most out of it, you need to become very good at asking questions – or – as commonly referred to – be good at “prompts”.

AI requires a clear set of instructions on how to give you the relevant content you need for your business.

Using ChatGPT prompts to create catchy, friendly subject lines

One way businesses can use AI to increase productivity is by using prompts to create catchy, friendly subject lines for their emails and marketing newsletters.

We like to use AI to help generate ideas for short copy such as subject lines or headlines – not so much to help write blog posts (we’ve tried using AI to write this, and it was absolutely shocking!)

Just to give you an example of how powerful prompts can be if done right, I have included one of the frameworks we like to use here at Bumper Leads called the PAS formula when writing copy for our sales emails or newsletters. We also teach this framework to our clients if they choose to write their own copy.

P-A-S stands for pain, agitate, solve.

Here’s an example of how to prompt your AI-content tool to generate relevant content.

Prompt – following PAS formula

“Write a newsletter introduction for [topic] using the PAS framework, addressing a specific problem my audience faces, agitating it, and presenting a solution.”

There are also other copy formulas we’ve tested as prompts with ChatGPT as per below:

Prompt – Incorporate storytelling in your newsletters

“Help me create a compelling narrative for my newsletter related to [topic], using the Hero’s Journey framework to engage and captivate my audience.”

Prompt – Apply the 4 U’s (Useful, Urgent, Unique, Ultra-Specific) to newsletter subject lines.

“Write 5 newsletter subject lines for [topic] using the 4 U’s framework to maximize open rates and audience engagement.”

The more we AI, the more Human connection we crave

While ChatGPT is a powerful tool, it cannot replace the human element of your brand.

A tool is a tool – what every great artist knows. You can own an expensive paint brush or a cheap paint brush, a tool cannot turn you into a Picasso. You still have to create the masterpiece you envisioned in the first place.

Human copywriters are able to inject personality and emotion into their content, creating a connection with the reader that ChatGPT cannot replicate (well not as yet). This connection is essential for creating content that stands out and resonates with the reader, creating an emotional response and ultimately leading to more sales.

Human copywriters understand the buyer’s journey and can craft a copy that speaks to your customers’ emotions, creating a unique and powerful connection. This connection is essential for businesses to stand out in a crowded marketplace thus increasing their sales.

To win at AI generated content, you have to Prompt like a Pro

Moving forward, anything AI related will need a human to prompt it to offer the exact outcomes it needs to generate for your audience.

With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP), businesses are increasingly relying on AI-driven tools such as ChatGPT (generative pre-trained transformer) to create content quickly and efficiently.

Copywriting is an art form. It requires the writer to have a deep understanding of the buyer’s journey and the ability to craft content that speaks to the customers’ emotions.
The more we rely on tech, the more I’m convinced that traditional marketing is unbeatable. Every time we’ve witnessed Google’s updates, such as the Pinguin update, it’s always the most authentic content that was never impacted by these algorithmic changes.

Traditional concepts of marketing still hold true for all businesses, and they don’t apply to AI only. I’m reminded of Seth Godin, who wrote Purple Cow back in the early 2000’s, showing the world how large companies did marketing and how the future of channel marketing was changing so fast these brands don’t have the capability to catch up. Traditionally, most big companies would distribute their marketing messages through TV and radio advertising. Seth was warning about the paradigm shift of social media and influencer marketing surpassing these large distribution mediums and this is back in the day when MySpace wasn’t even a thing!

Purple Cow is written for businesses who focus on serving a starving crowd, a small community of raving fans that build momentum over time to help you build a brand in order to compete with larger brands thus diluting the brand equity for larger brands.

In summary, AI (or ChatGPT) is not a shortcut in how you market your business. It is simply a tool to help you get there faster.
